We are seeking a PPAP specialist/Quality Engineer to join the Engineering & Manufacturing department of a staple precision component manufacturer. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards in Burnley.

Description

As the PPAP/Quality Engineer you roles and responsibilities are as follows;

  • Completion and collation of PPAP documents
  • A core member of project-specific teams for all automotive products or products requiring PPAP documentation.
  • Reviewing customer-specific requirements documents, updating the CSR matrix and flowing down requirements to process owners, where required.
  • Conducting quality department elements of feasibility
  • Conducting quality department elements of contract review
  • Attending feasibility reviews on behalf of the quality department.
  • Annual re-validation of PPAP through management of the layout inspection procedure.
  • Leading master PFMEA and control plan reviews to ensure that the AIAG and / or customer-specified standards are followed.
  • Contribute potential risk analysis to management of change.
  • Contribute to lessons learned reviews.

Profile

A successful PPAP/Quality Engineer should have:

Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum five years experience in PPAP creation
  • Minimum five years experience of utilising core tools including process capability, measurement systems analysis and statistical process control.
  • Experience of submitting directly to automotive OEM's preferred.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working knowledge of Minitab software

Qualifications/Experience Levels and Specific Role Requirements:

Third party certification in APQP, PPAP and automotive core tools advantageous

  • Experience of working in a quality engineering role advantageous
