We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley. This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and later transitioning to work 1:1 with a child in Year 4.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to meet the individual needs of a pupil with SEN.

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCP strategies.

  • Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.

  • Support the child's social integration and engagement in classroom routines.

  • Offer additional support to the wider class when needed.



Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or substantial experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.

  • Is proactive, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
