Contract Type: Temporary - Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (09:00 - 15:30), term-time only.

Expected Pay: £110 - £190 (depending on experience)

Start Date: April 2023

About the role

Vision for Education is working with a local mainstream primary school in Burnley to recruit an inspiring Year 2 Class Teacher with enthusiasm and a love for learning. The successful Year 2 Class Teacher will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to a class of 24 pupils who have a range of abilities. The successful Class Teacher will have sound knowledge of the requirements of the national curriculum and will take this into account when planning, preparing ad delivering teaching materials to their class. The Class Teacher will use a range of strategies for teaching and maintaining classroom behaviour in accordance with the school policy.

 

The role is expected to start shortly after the Easter half-term and will be ongoing up until the end of the academic year, but does have the potential to be extended for a further academic year.

The school we're recruiting for are a small, friendly primary school closely located to Burnley town centre. Driving is not essential for this role, as the school is easily accessible via a bus route if public transport is required. The school’s vision is to provide the best education and care that they can for their children and their families. The staff at the school are extremely hard-working and committed, going the “extra mile” for their children resulting in happy, well-behaved children and high educational standards. The school offer a supportive and welcoming environment for new and existing staff. There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Key Stage 1 Teacher - Burnley you will:

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Must have taught in either Foundation Stage/Key Stage 1
  • Must have a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • A good understanding of the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies
  • Must be able to plan lessons effectively for all the pupils in a class
  • Must have good communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to manage own work load effectively and respond swiftly to tight deadlines

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
