We are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis for a 6-month period. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant or someone early in their studies/newly graduated, looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic finance environment.

The successful candidate will primarily support Accounts Payable processes, with additional responsibilities in balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payment runs.
  • Maintain supplier records and respond to queries.

General Ledger & Month-End Support:

  • Assist with posting journals (accruals, prepayments, corrections).
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bank, control accounts).
  • Support month-end close activities as required.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Part-qualified accountant (AAT Level 3/4 or early CIMA/ACCA) OR recent finance/accounting graduate.

Experience:

Some exposure to finance processes (internship or placement experience desirable).

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good Excel skills (basic formulas, pivot tables desirable).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week: 9 hours Mon-Thu, 4 hours Fri with flexi)
