Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Burnley. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a range of additional needs, helping them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Use a range of communication strategies (e.g. Makaton, PECS) to support learning

  • Foster student's social, emotional, and academic development

  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour

  • Support in managing behaviour positively and in line with school policy

  • Assist with personal care needs when necessary

  • Promote inclusion and independence in all aspects of school life

We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting)

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

  • Can work well as part of a team and under direction

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
