Job Title:Data Protection Officer

Start Date: ASAP
Pay:230 day rate DOE
Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Duration:Until 31st October initially- possibility of extensions
Hours:Monday to Friday- Up to 40 hours per week




Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data protection policies aligned with GDPR, PECR, and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to embed compliant data practices.
  • Lead training initiatives to promote a strong data protection culture organisation wide.
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments, updating policies as regulations evolve.
  • Manage data subject rights requests and oversee breach response processes.
  • Serve as the main contact for regulatory bodies and privacy-related enquiries.


Requirements:
  • Proven track record in a Data Protection Officer role or similar position focused on data privacy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and other applicable data protection laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data protection policies and procedures from the ground up.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage, educate, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity or information security principles and how they align with data protection requirements.
