Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as an Assistant Accountant. The Account Asssiant will be a key member of the accounting function. They will be an integral part of the Accounts Department, assisting in the efficient running of the accounts function and ensuring strong financial accounting and reporting throughout the group.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly accounts
- Sales and Purchase ledger monitoring, reconciling & month-end closures.
- Manufacturer key account postings and reconciliations including Bonuses, Self-Billing Invoices and Warranty.
- Fixed Asset Register Maintenance & Depreciation runs.
- Intercompany account reconciliations
- Various balance sheet account reconciliations
- Posting the Bank Statements daily including month end Bank Reconciliation for 3 sites.
- Weekly and monthly Funding Reconciliation.
- Running and monitoring weekly vehicle, trade and rental debtors. Liaising with Managers to ensure timely payment of outstanding debts.
- Assisting and supporting the team with daily banking.
- Aiding the payment process to ensure a thorough check and balance is in place.
- Assisting with yearly Vehicle Stock Check.
Behavioural responsibilities include:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a busy, fast paced accounting department and enjoy a challenging and varied environment.
- Ideally you will be enthusiastic, well organised, diligent, and able to work to strict deadlines whilst paying attention to detail and working both as an individual and as part of a team.
- Experience in a motor trade environment with a Kerridge DMS background.
- Computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Team Player. Excellent administrative/organisational abilities, and able to work on own initiative.
