Assistant Buyer

We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to focus on building strong relationships and negotiating the best rates with suppliers, supporting our continued growth and success.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the Senior Buyer in maintaining a steady supply of quality, cost-effective goods and services from approved suppliers.
  • Foster strong and effective working relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and process efficiencies for indirect spend categories.
  • Assist the Senior Buyer in negotiating, agreeing, managing, and measuring supplier performance against defined SLAs.
  • Participate in a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects.
  • Work cross-functionally, collaborating with colleagues across all departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in Purchasing/Procurement within a similar position.
  • Proven track record of building strong, productive, and effective supplier relationships.
  • Experience using pre-defined SLAs to manage supplier performance.
  • Natural curiosity with a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Passion for continuous improvement.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Strong administrative, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
