Sea Freight Coordinator - Burntwood - Up to 35,000

A dynamic freight forwarding business is seeking an experienced Sea Freight Forwarder to support the continued growth of its sea freight operations. This role is ideal for someone with a minimum of 5 years' sea freight experience who can manage end-to-end operations and contribute to commercial development.

Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: Up to 35,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Location: Burntwood
Contract Type: Hybrid available after 6-month probation (3 days office / 2 days WFH)



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle FCL and LCL import/export shipments
  • Coordinate documentation, customs clearance, and transport
  • Quote clients and negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers
  • Monitor and resolve shipment issues using TMS and carrier portals
  • Handle costing, invoicing, and ensure smooth operational delivery
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and support sales opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and agents
  • Contribute to service improvements and identify growth opportunities


Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sea freight forwarding (import/export)
  • Knowledge of air freight desirable (secondary to sea freight)
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms, trade lanes, and freight documentation
  • IMDG training advantageous
  • Proven ability to manage FCL/LCL shipments and negotiate rates
  • Experience with TMS/CRM systems and carrier portals
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer service skills
  • Network of industry contacts beneficial
