Due to expansion and internal progression, I’m working on a brilliant position for a newly qualified Accountant to join a leading international PE backed business as a Group Financial Accountant reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller. The position is located in Burton-on-Trent and follows a hybrid working model, requiring you to be in the office only once every two weeks.

You will be part of an ambitious team who are always looking to progress and push the business forward into different areas of the market. As a Group Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts, working alongside the Group Financial Controller
  • Completion of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts on a monthly basis
  • Maintenance of the balance sheet, including monthly review of all reconciliations and identification of any areas of risk or concern
  • Support the business in financial decision-making and identifying areas for process improvement across the finance function.

Key requirements:

  • Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) looking for your first move from practice or with relevant industry experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate to other areas of the business
