Are you a commercially astute contract professional looking for your next step?

This is a newly refocused role offering significant scope, strong mentorship, and exposure to a wide variety of UK contracts. You'll take the lead on commercial and contractual matters across the UK business to protect the organisation's interests while building strong, long-lasting relationships. This position is ideal for someone from an M&E or construction background, who wants to broaden their experience in a supportive environment with access to seasoned commercial expertise.

The Role
You'll act as the commercial and contractual lead for the UK, ensuring risks are identified early, client terms are well-negotiated, and contracts are delivered in line with agreed expectations. You'll review and negotiate T&Cs, mitigate commercial risks, manage contract changes, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, negotiate and amend client T&Cs across simple to complex bespoke contracts.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate commercial risk from initial enquiry through delivery.
  • Maintain visibility of all commercial risks for UK contracts, including variations and notifications.
  • Engage early with Engineering teams to flag risks before quoting.
  • Take ownership of contract change control and variations, reducing pressure on Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Attend client commercial reviews and build strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Manage contract variations, ERNs and change control, ensuring both sides meet obligations.
  • Ensure accurate contract documentation, records, and commercial compliance.
  • Support procurement with flow-down contract conditions.
  • Handle insurance claims to resolution and coordinate bonds/guarantees.
  • Contribute to commercial/legal policy updates and raise commercial awareness across the business.

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong commercial and contractual background within an M&E, construction or similar project-led environment.
  • Able to review, draft, negotiate and amend bespoke terms & conditions.
  • Commercially minded with solid understanding of contractual law principles.
  • Confident working with technical teams, legal, clients and suppliers.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).

Personal Qualities

  • Relationship-driven rather than rigid or transactional.
  • Proactive, engaging and confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Highly organised with strong ownership and follow-through.
  • Mature, self-starting and able to manage peaks and troughs in workload.

This is a rare chance to step into a broad commercial position with genuine development, mentoring and exposure to a variety of contracts. A great opportunity to make an immediate impact by improving commercial engagement across the business, whilst being a part of a stable and supportive team environment with long-term career potential.
