We are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in Burton-on-Trent. The Role:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to manage classroom behaviour and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. This temporary role is ideal for individuals who are confident, organised, and interested in gaining further experience within a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a variety of pre-set lessons across different subjects and year groups.

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and respect.

• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, structured environment.

• Provide general support to students and assist with any queries during lessons.

• Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership when required.

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably in a school or tutoring setting.

• Training: Basic understanding of classroom management strategies and safeguarding protocols.

• Qualifications: A formal qualification obtained in the UK, or statement of comparability for overseas qualifications.

• Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.

• Safeguarding: An enhanced DBS check registered to the update service is required (or be willing to undergo one).

  • All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one that is registered to the update service. Desirable Criteria:
To be considered for the higher end of the salary range, candidates should demonstrate:

• A track record of successful experience as a Cover Supervisor in a school setting.

• Completion of relevant CPD (e.g. behaviour management, safeguarding).

• Long-term reliability and positive feedback while working through Link3 Recruitment.

• Consistent professionalism and flexibility across various classroom environments.
