Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager for a Childrens Care Home in Burton upon Trent.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support children and young people in a residential care setting. Your role will focus on leading a team to ensure that the children living within the home have the very best care, great role models and a place to call home.

Salary: £34,000 per annum


Duties of a Deputy Managerwill include:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with children, families, and professionals

To provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)

Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in supervising and developing staff

A confident and reliable decision-maker with the ability to step in effectively during the Home Managers absence

Leading and supervising a team, providing guidance and support

Planning and managing staff shifts

Supporting team development through supervisions and training

Assisting with the daily running of the home and following senior management decisions

Ensuring the home is safe and well-maintained, including health & safety checks

Managing budgets and resources

Keeping accurate records, writing reports, and attending meetings

Working with external agencies and professionals

Creating, updating, and following care plans and risk assessments


In order to be considered for the role of a Deputy Manager:

Candidates must have their NVQ Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Residential

  • A Certified Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification in Children's Residential Care or must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5

2+ years experience in a childrens residential setting

Supervisory experience

Passion to help nurture young people

Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins

Full, UK Driving License


Hours of Work: Monday to Sunday 8-hour days - You will be required to be flexible within your working hours based on the needs of the home
