We are seeking a Compliance Manager to uphold the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within our organisation. This pivotal role involves leading the development, implementation, and enhancement of compliance programs to ensure our Quality Management Systems (QMS) surpass industry standards, meet customer expectations, and fulfil regulatory requirements. The Compliance Manager will also play a crucial role in fostering a culture of quality excellence and driving process improvements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the Quality Management Systems (QMS), including HACCP, internal audits, and technical training frameworks, ensuring they consistently exceed industry benchmarks and customer specifications.
  • Ensure full adherence to key standards such as BRC, GMP, HACCP, Kosher, and SMETA/SEDEX.
  • Lead internal and external audit readiness, coordinate pre-audit preparation, and manage the closure of any non-conformances.
  • Manage the HACCP program and implement risk assessments and mitigation strategies to ensure food safety and protect brand integrity.
  • Oversee allergen and species risk management programs, ensuring accurate labelling and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Manage on-site VACCP and TACCP programs to prevent food fraud and intentional contamination.
  • Enhance the Pest Control Program and enforce strict hygiene, allergen control, and foreign body management programs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to ensure supplier compliance and raw material integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement by utilising data-driven decision-making to enhance Quality KPIs and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in compliance, quality, or food safety management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, GMP, and other industry standards.
  • HACCP Level 3 minimum; Food Safety Level 3 or higher (or equivalent).
  • Experience in audit management, compliance systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders.
