Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Burton from September 2025. This is a full-time role supporting children with a range of additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

About the Role:You will play a key role in supporting pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Speech and Language Communication Needs

  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties

  • Associated Social, Emotional and Behavioural Needs

Working alongside teaching and therapy staff, you will help create an inclusive, supportive setting where each child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and behaviour needs

  • Assist with the development of communication, self-regulation and life skills

  • Implement individualised learning and behaviour support plans

  • Encourage positive interactions and emotional wellbeing

  • Support classroom routines, activities, and transitions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (in any setting)

  • A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach to behaviour

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
