Our client based in Barton Under Needwood, are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator on a temp to perm basis ( 6 months).

Job Purpose:

The role of Welder/Fabricator is to comply with company procedures in achieving on time deliveries to customer specification.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

* Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace

* Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to

* Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence

* Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company's ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification

* Understanding and Compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions

* Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on work instruction and drawing requirements.

* Set up components for welding according to specifications using appropriate jigs and fittings.

* Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded and removal of excessive weld spatter.

* Ensure all components are aligned using calipers, rulers, squares and etc.

* Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).

* Have a good understanding of the general workings of the welding equipment and perform general maintenance and repair.

* Work to and achieve production targets.

* Work to and support all relevant 5S activities and standards.

* Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.

* Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager.

Background & Experience:

* Proven experience as welder

* Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, Stick, etc.)

* Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

* Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

* Deftness and attention to detail

General Business Qualifications/Education Required:

* Professional Certification (e.g., CSWIP or AWS welding certificate) will be a advantageous

* Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent
