The OpportunityOur client, a reputable and long-standing accountancy practice in East Anglia, is looking for a General Practice Senior to join their growing team in Bury St Edmunds. With nearly 100 years of heritage and over 150 employees across 10 regional offices, this firm offers a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment where professionals can truly thrive.

This role is perfect for someone who is AAT qualified and/or ACA/ACCA part-qualified, with at least 3 years of general practice experience. Candidates qualified by experience are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing accounts and tax compliance work for a variety of clients (sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies)

  • Producing VAT returns and advising clients on cloud-based software like Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks

  • Completing self-assessment and business tax returns, including capital gains and income from property

  • Mentoring junior staff and reviewing work when appropriate

  • Building strong client relationships and advising on financial processes and tax efficiency

  • Engaging with both senior staff and clients to drive excellent service delivery

What You'll Bring

  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts prep

  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software

  • High attention to detail and clear communication skills

  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to work to deadlines

  • Ideally, experience supervising or mentoring junior staff

Working Hours ?? Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm? Flexible start/finish times around core hours (10am - 4pm)
