Driver Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Driver to join our team in Bury St Edmunds. We are looking for a van driver who is hard-working, conscientious and passionate about contributing towards the smooth and professional delivery of products to customers at their building sites.

Driver Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct full inspection of vehicle
• Fuelling Vehicles
• Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle
• Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times
• Ensure that all delivery procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer procedures
• Ensure all Company documentation and equipment is returned to the transport office/depot daily
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within Company and legal frameworks
• Report vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented
• Comply with Driver’s regulations & Working Time Directive in line with the current legislation and Company procedures
• Attend a driver debrief at the end of each shift and provide information relating to shift
• Able to portray a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Assisting with Warehouse duties if required, such as packing and picking, using company warehouse system, keeping warehouse/yard clean and tidy, assisting with stock take
• In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided.

Driver Qualities Needed:

• Be flexible to work possible early starts and assist in the warehouse
• Have multi-drop driving experience
• Physically fit to perform manual tasks as required
• Organised and good attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Confident and able to use own initiative when needed
• Excellent time keeping skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.50 per hour
