Project Manager - UK Defence

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of delivering complex, long-term engineering projects within our UK Defence division.You'll be the driving force from start to finish - ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards while keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and deliver one or more complex projects, ensuring all objectives are met

  • Oversee contract fulfilment, ensuring all deliverables are achieved

  • Develop and execute a robust Project Management Plan

  • Manage stakeholders at all levels - customers, suppliers, and internal teams

  • Identify and mitigate risks while spotting opportunities for improvement

  • Control and manage any project changes to avoid scope creep

  • Track project finances, forecast cashflow, and manage milestone payments

  • Resolve issues quickly to keep projects on track

  • Build strong relationships across teams and with clients

  • Monitor performance against schedule, scope, and budget

  • Produce regular performance reports for both internal and external audiences

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven project management experience - ideally with formal qualifications (APM, Prince2, PMP)

  • Background in mechanical engineering or manufacturing

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and MS Project

  • SAP knowledge (desirable but not essential)

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt in challenging environments

  • Integrity, resilience, and the ability to influence and guide others
