We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Client Onboarding Assistant to join a legal firm based in Bury on a full-time basis. This role is based in their Bury St Edmunds office and offers a great opportunity to be part of a supportive and professional environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will assist the Deeds Manager with a variety of tasks, including:
- Handling client onboarding processes across a range of legal matters.
- Creating and updating client records in the Practice Management System (PMS).
- Running and processing conflict checks using internal data.
- Reviewing and verifying client identification documents.
- Conducting electronic ID checks and follow-ups using external sources.
- Performing PEPs and Sanctions checks.
- Escalating complex matters to the Deeds Manager.
- Liaising with Partners, Fee Earners, and support staff to ensure smooth onboarding.
In addition, you will:
- Maintain high standards of client service and compliance.
- Ensure all tasks align with Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory requirements.
- Support other administrative duties as needed, including occasional out-of-hours work.
- Ideally educated to degree level. - Law
- Experience in a legal environment is preferred, particularly in client engagement.
- Strong willingness to learn legal compliance and risk procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and adaptability to procedural changes.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
