We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Client Onboarding Assistant to join a legal firm based in Bury on a full-time basis. This role is based in their Bury St Edmunds office and offers a great opportunity to be part of a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist the Deeds Manager with a variety of tasks, including:

  • Handling client onboarding processes across a range of legal matters.
  • Creating and updating client records in the Practice Management System (PMS).
  • Running and processing conflict checks using internal data.
  • Reviewing and verifying client identification documents.
  • Conducting electronic ID checks and follow-ups using external sources.
  • Performing PEPs and Sanctions checks.
  • Escalating complex matters to the Deeds Manager.
  • Liaising with Partners, Fee Earners, and support staff to ensure smooth onboarding.

In addition, you will:

  • Maintain high standards of client service and compliance.
  • Ensure all tasks align with Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory requirements.
  • Support other administrative duties as needed, including occasional out-of-hours work.
Skills and Experience
  • Ideally educated to degree level. - Law
  • Experience in a legal environment is preferred, particularly in client engagement.
  • Strong willingness to learn legal compliance and risk procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adaptability to procedural changes.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic setting.
