With a long-standing heritage, the firm provides expert legal services across multiple practice areas, maintaining high professional standards and a friendly working environment.Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join the Residential Property team. Based in Bury St Edmunds, you will support the fee earners by managing administrative tasks, providing accurate document production, and delivering excellent client service. This role is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcribing and producing correspondence and legal documentation using digital dictation.
  • Handling conveyancing tasks, including preparing contract packs, ordering searches, and managing SDLT forms and HMLR submissions.
  • Opening and closing files as instructed.
  • Client interaction both by telephone and in person.
  • Accurate message-taking and prompt communication to relevant individuals.
  • Providing administrative support, diary management, and scheduling meetings.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Providing occasional cover for colleagues as required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an office environment, preferably within a property department at a law firm.
  • Typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • GCSE-level education in Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • Professional, approachable, and reliable.
