Worldwide prestigious specialist transportation company with over three decades in the industry looking after some of the worlds most luxurious and rare vehicles are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Freight Forwarder or someone with strong customer services and attention to detail who wants to learn to join their team in rural Suffolk, near Bury St Edmunds.

The Role

As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a critical role in managing freight shipments across ocean, air, and road transport. You will be the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and high levels of service delivery.
You will coordinate shipments, oversee documentation processes, manage customer relationships, and work with teams across multiple functions to meet client needs and ensure timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

Freight & Shipment Coordination:

Booking & Monitoring Shipments: Coordinate Ocean freight bookings, track shipments, and ensure timely movement of goods from origin to destination. Arrange drayage and haulage services to and from UK ports, ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

Carrier & Supplier Coordination: Work closely with shipping lines, air carriers, and ground transportation providers to arrange and confirm freight movements, ensuring cost-effective and efficient services.

Route & Transit Optimization: Analyse shipping routes, transit times, and costs to recommend the most efficient solutions for clients, ensuring the balance of cost, speed, and service quality.

Documentation Management & Compliance:

Sea Freight & Air Freight Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary documentation, including Bills of Lading (MBL), Airway Bills (AWB), manifests, and other related paperwork, for both sea and air freight shipments.

Quotations & Client Liaison: Provide clients with accurate freight quotations on behalf of the Transport Department. Maintain a proactive communication line with clients to ensure all aspects of their shipments are managed efficiently and in accordance with their needs.

Customer Service & Relationship Management:

Client Issue Resolution: Take ownership of client issues, responding to queries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency. Work to resolve problems related to shipment delays, customs issues, or any other logistics-related challenges.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all freight forwarding activities, including bookings, shipments, invoices, and communications. Prepare reports as required by management to track shipment progress and identify opportunities for cost savings or operational improvements.
