Role: Manufacturing Team Leader
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Salary: Negotiable (based on experience)
Hours: 39 hours a week, Mon-Thursday (4-Day working week)

A global manufacturer is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to drive production performance and lead a high-performing team within a Lean Manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, people-focused role ideal for someone passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You'll be responsible for daily production activity, managing workflow through CRM systems, ensuring quality and safety standards to meet performance goals. This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and professional development on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate will have a background in continuous improvement and the ability to communicate clearly across all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily meetings and communicate production targets
  • Oversee adherence to quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manage department capacity and staffing using companies CRM.
  • Provide hands-on support to resolve production issues quickly and effectively
  • Track employee performance and conduct regular reviews and 1:1s
  • Mentor, coach, and develop your team within a Lean Manufacturing culture
  • Champion Lean tools such as 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Planning, QA, and Materials department

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Proven experience with Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, 5Y, TPM, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CRM or other MRP systems
  • Good Microsoft Office and general IT skills
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, production planning, and quality standards
