Financial Controller | Bury (Hybrid) | £70,000 - £80,000 + 10% bonus | PE BackedAxon Moore have partnered with an exciting PE backed business in Bury who have created a new role in their team on a back of a recent acquisition, for a qualified Financial Controller to come in and report into the CFO of an £80m turnover business that have tripled in size over the last 5 years. Managing team of 3 direct and 4 indirect reports, you will work as part of an exciting PE backed business who are continuing on an exciting growth journey, with an exit planned in the next couple of years. As a result, there'll be significant progression on offer for the suitable candidate.Responsibilities include: 
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, including where appropriate the development of the existing forecasting processes and models
  • Working in tandem with the commercial and operational areas of the business, ensure that the sales and margin forecasts are accurately maintained
  • Working with the Finance Manager to effectively manage AP&AR to ensure efficient processing of invoices, customer collections and supplier payments to terms, whilst aiming to maximise working capital position
  • Support in the preparation of the group board pack by contributing analytical insights derived from in-depth analysis of revenue stream diversification, cost base efficiency, and profitability drivers
  • Provide effective leadership, management and development of the finance team ensuring that role profiles and objectives are appropriately communicated, understood and actioned
  • Support with business partnering to the operational and commercial areas of the business in order to aid profitability and value creation.  Prepare analysis and reports as necessary to communicate performance to the board and leadership group
  • Oversee timely and accurate monthly management accounts and other supporting information as required.
Ideal candidate:
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified 
  • Previous experience in the preparation and presentation of management accounts and financial forecasts
  • Diligent, curious and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
