Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to work with Bury Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working

This incoming candidate will ensue that responsive and planned repairs are scheduled and delivered efficiently, supporting high-quality service delivery for our tenants. You will be responsible for allocating works orders, coordinating with operatives and contractors, and making sure repairs are completed on time, right the first time.

Main Duties

  • Schedule and allocate all responsive and planned repair works.
  • Raise works orders and assign jobs to operatives, contractors, and partners.
  • Monitor workloads and resource availability in real time, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Liaise with tenants to arrange appointments and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Contact Centre and Bury Stores to ensure smooth material and repair coordination.
  • Maintain operative diaries and ensure repairs are tracked and completed efficiently.
  • Manage shared inboxes and provide data to support operative performance.
  • Support disrepair processes and legal timescales.
  • Handle enquiries, complaints, and safeguarding concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Use ICT systems including scheduling software and QL/DRS to manage repairs.
  • Participate in a shift rota covering service hours of 8am–5pm.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and equality policies.

Essential Criteria

  • Prior experience in scheduling and planning repairs
  • Experience communicating with tenants via telephone
  • Proven track record liaising with repairs operatives and supervisors
  • Prior experience of working with QL and DRS systems
  • Experience raising works orders and using repairs management software
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
  • Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills
