We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team in a friendly 32-bedded residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents, while maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and cook meals in line with residents preferences and dietary requirements.
Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene standards and maintain a Better Food, Safer Business approach in the kitchen.
Manage ordering, stock control, and rotation to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
Work closely with the care team to adapt menus to individual dietary needs.
Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and organised at all times.
Ensure accurate record-keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
Work a full-time rota, with every other weekend off.
Previous experience working as a cook, preferably in a care, residential, or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and catering for special dietary needs.
Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations.
Organised, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality meals.
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher) desirable.
