Join Bury Council's Department for Sustainability and Investment as an Energy Project Manager. This role is crucial for driving forward energy improvement schemes across the borough's housing stock, focusing on retrofit energy schemes and EPC improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in managing projects that aim to enhance energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty among residents.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and advice on retrofit energy schemes, including external wall insulation.
  • Project manage energy improvement schemes from inception to completion, including financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Liaise with tenants, leaseholders, and contractors to ensure successful implementation of energy schemes.
  • Assist in scoping and procurement for future energy schemes, including wave 3 SH:WHF applications.
  • Undertake assessments of housing stock for future energy schemes and assist with related reporting.
  • Represent the council in energy forums and technical forums, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in retrofit and working on energy schemes.
  • Knowledge of SAP, low carbon technology, and energy performance certificates (EPCs).
  • Retrofit qualification is desirable.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with tenants, leaseholders, and contractors.
  • Ability to travel to sites, with access to a bike or motorised vehicle for site visits
