Bury Council are looking for multiple part-time Casual School Catering Assistants to join various schools across Bury. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food service and have a commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of children.
Day-to-day of the role:- Assist in the basic preparation and cooking of food and beverages.
- Set up service counters and displays, and serve food and beverages.
- Prepare, set up, and clear dining rooms before and after service, including the movement and storage of dining furniture.
- Assist in the cleaning of kitchen equipment, dining furniture, and designated kitchen and dining areas as per the cleaning rota.
- Handle washing, drying, and storage of crockery and kitchen utensils.
- Assist in the receipt and storage of deliveries.
- Manage the removal of kitchen waste to designated refuse collection areas.
- Promote excellent customer service through proactive customer care.
- Be responsible for and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Be available to work shifts 5 days a week.
- Be able to commute to multiple locations in Bury and nearby areas.
- Be available to work shifts in primary and secondary schools.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Own safety/steel toe cap boots.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Physically fit and healthy.
Please note: You will be called between 8- 8:30am to book shifts for the same day. Shift hours will either be 11:30am - 1:30pm or 10am - 1pm.
