About the Role
NEOS Engineering are seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Mechanic to join our clients team in Bury. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and machinery used within the waste and recycling industry, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile and static plant, including loading shovels, material handlers, screeners, and shredders.
- Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
- Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
- Work on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company and industry standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter working on heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to fault-find and resolve issues independently.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications (preferred, but not essential for the right experience).
