Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and learning activities.

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to support their learning and progress.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and support children's social and emotional development.

  • Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.

  • Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and on educational visits as required.

  • Contribute to the general care and welfare of pupils.

  • Follow school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety.



Person Specification

Essential:

  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience of working with children in a primary school or early years setting.

  • Good understanding of how children learn and how to support them effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative when required
