Spectrum Children’s Services (part of the Rehability UK Group) are looking for dedicated Youth Independence Mentors / Youth Support Workers to join our Supported Accommodation teams. You’ll support young people aged 16–18 as they prepare for adulthood—teaching essential life skills, encouraging personal growth, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting young people day-to-day in line with their individual plans.

  • Teaching independence skills – cooking, budgeting, cleaning, travel, health, and community access.

  • Encouraging education, training, and employment opportunities.

  • Acting as a positive role model and building safe, trusting relationships.

  • Promoting safeguarding, safety, and well-being at all times.

  • Recording progress and outcomes using Clear Care Solutions.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure the best outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

Experience working with young people (care, supported accommodation, youth work, education, or transferable skills).
Ability to teach and encourage independence skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Desirable: Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Children & Young People / Health & Social Care, mentoring experience, full UK driving licence.
