We are working with a well-established secondary school in Bushey, known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to both student and staff development. They are now seeking a passionate Design Technology Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis starting in September 2025.

The Role:

You will be teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is a plus, but not required), with potential areas including product design, resistant materials, graphics, and CAD/CAM. You'll plan and deliver practical and engaging lessons, support students in developing their design and technical skills, and ensure a safe, well-organised workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver creative and well-structured DT lessons that engage and inspire students

  • Encourage hands-on learning through a variety of design and manufacturing projects

  • Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on student progress

  • Maintain and manage workshop tools, materials, and equipment

  • Collaborate with the DT department to develop curriculum and resources

  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in staff duties

What We’re Looking For:
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience teaching Design Technology at a secondary school level

  • Strong knowledge of the DT curriculum and workshop safety procedures

  • A practical, creative approach to teaching and learning

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
