Learning Support Assistant – Full-Time, Long-Term
Location: Bushey, Hertfordshire
Start Date: January 2026

Supply Desk is thrilled to partner with a welcoming primary school in Bushey, known for its inclusive ethos and nurturing learning environment. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting January 2026.

Role Overview

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to help support students’ learning and development. You will play an integral role in building students’ confidence, fostering essential skills, and helping them reach their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students.

  • Assist in classroom organisation and help promote positive behaviour.

  • Adapt learning materials to accommodate diverse student needs and interests.

  • Support the delivery of lessons and engage students in classroom activities.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with both pupils and staff.

  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and wellbeing, providing regular updates as needed.

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.

  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting students.

  • Confident in managing classroom routines and supporting behaviour management.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.

  • Knowledge of inclusive education principles and safeguarding practices.

  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
