Job Summary

To assist the hatchery management team in the day-to-day running of the hatchery facility. To ensure the welfare of day-old chicks whilst maintain the high standards of quality, hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety that are required.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a full understanding of poultry

Assist with daily production needs, in particular chick production

Hygiene monitoring

Undertake various tasks within the hatchery; chick take off and chick grading

General cleaning and tidiness of all areas inside and outside the hatchery to ensure our high standards of biosecurity are adhered to at all times

Adhere to all codes of practice and bird welfare

Adhere to health and safety standards at all times

Undertake any other duties within the hatchery operation as and when required

Be responsible for own training and development to keep up to date with industry standards
