Welsh Speaking Nursery Teaching Assistant - Caerphilly

Location: Caerphilly
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Daily Rate: 90 per day (rate may increase depending on qualifications, experience, and client rate)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to support a Welsh-medium nursery setting in the Caerphilly area. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about early years education and confident in using the Welsh language in a professional setting.



Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities through the medium of Welsh.

  • Assist with daily routines, play-based learning, and classroom organisation.

  • Work closely with young learners to promote their language, social, and emotional development.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where needed.



Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in a Primary or Nursery setting, or strong experience working with children in another relevant capacity.

  • A warm, nurturing approach and strong communication skills.

  • A commitment to promoting the use of Welsh as a first language in the classroom.



Essential Requirements:

  • Fluency in Welsh (spoken and written).

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
