We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client in Caerphilly, looking to bring an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer into their team. This is a standalone, hands-on role ideal for someone with strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate as the sole on-shift engineer, ensuring machinery runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • React promptly to breakdowns during production, minimizing downtime.
  • Work closely with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, following health & safety and food safety protocols.
  • Oversee external engineering contractors to ensure adherence to site policies.

Electrical Biased Engineer Job Requirements

  • Time-served Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical bias (mechanical skills advantageous).
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or similar FMCG environment preferred.
  • Skilled in diagnosing faults across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Confident reading schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Clear communicator, able to work autonomously and under pressure.
  • Committed to safety and precision in every task.

Electrical Biased Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • £46,000 (inclusive of shift premiums)
  • 7 day fortnight shift rotation (days only)
