HGV Technician – Mobile & Workshop
Location: Caerphilly
Salary/OTE: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum
Hours: 1 week workshop, 1 week mobile
- Workshop week: 08:00 – 16:30
- Mobile week: 06:00 – 14:30, then on-call
Overview for the HGV Technician:
We’re looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy dealership in Caerphilly. This is a unique role combining both workshop and mobile/on-call work on a weekly rotation, offering excellent earning potential of up to £65,000 OTE.
With recent contract wins and continued growth, this is an exciting time to join a secure and well-supported team.
Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:
- Diagnose, service, and repair HGVs and trailers
- Complete standard maintenance and major overhauls
- Carry out pre-MOT inspections and routine safety checks
- Identify and resolve vehicle defects efficiently
- Complete all documentation and job cards accurately
- Deliver a high standard of work both in the workshop and on customer sites
What You’ll Need as a HGV Technician:
- Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ / IMI) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in an HGV dealership or fleet workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage your workload independently and to deadlines
- A proactive, safety-first approach
