Our established and successful manufacturing client in Caerphilly are recruiting for a Production Planner to join them on a Temp to Perm basis.

While you will join on a temporary basis initially, the successful candidate will then go onto be offered a permanent contract after a period of bedding in.

In this exciting role you will organise production according to demand and quality standards, ensuring the smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.

Hourly Rate: Between 14.50 - 16.65 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am -5pm / Friday 9am - 4pm.

Key Duties:

  • Coordinate production workflow via capacity planning & lead time systems.
  • Maintain the build schedules for manufactured products.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover demand.
  • Adhere to the weekly production plan, ensuring best production efficiency.
  • BOM integration to support material planning activities.
  • Organise production builds to satisfy customer demand & avoid productivity stoppage.
  • Liaison with Labour planner regarding line running rates and any potential line problems.
  • Ensure adequate availability of parts for build avoiding supply shortages.
  • Monitor supplier performance in line with Purchasing Team Leader.
  • Monitor finished goods stock levels maintaining inventory in line with agreed KPI's.
  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of tracking material and flow within production.
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and systems.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience in production scheduling ideally within an assembly environment.
