Role & Responsibilities:

The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will ensure that the HSE strategy is developed and deployed in conjunction with the overall business strategy. The HSE manager will instigate and maintain environmental permits as required along with fostering a proactive operational safety culture.

  • Develop and implement the company's health, safety and environmental policies.
  • Oversee environmental permitting of all sites.
  • Conduct regular site audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Engage with the staff across the site to build a positive safety culture and gain buy in.
  • Provide staff training on health, safety and environmental practices.
  • Conduct Toolbox talks, site walk arounds, and adopt a hands on approach to HSE.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain and/or deploy a HSE management system (including objectives, processes and support) that meet the requirements of relevant Operational Framework and International HSE Standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience post-qualification applying HSE knowledge and processes in work-related situations
  • A track record in the implementation of ISO standards 14001 & 45001.
  • A hands-on approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • Experience of internal safety inspections/audits.
  • People management skills and experience ensuring a positive HSE relationship with employees
