Position: Assistant /Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Caerphilly
Reports to: Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager
Company Overview:
Our client is a leading carpentry sub-contractor specialising in commercial builds and refurbishments with Tier 1 contractors.
Job Purpose:
Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing project costs, minimizing expenses, and ensuring high standards and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management: Assist in preparing cost estimates and monitoring project budgets.
Procurement: Help procure materials and subcontractors, and evaluate tenders.
Contract Administration: Aid in preparing and managing contracts, and record site activities.
Measurement and Valuation: Measure and value work in progress, prepare payment applications, and conduct valuations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks.
Client Communication: Maintain communication with clients andsubcontractors.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards, and uphold health and safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Experience: Previous experience in construction, preferably with a focus on commercial builds and carpentry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry software and understanding of construction methods.
Soft Skills: Strong numerical, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, office-based with regular site visits.
