Head Mechanic | Caerphilly | Up to 40,000 DOE | Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm | Independent Garage
A well-established independent sales and service garage based in Caerphilly is currently looking for an experienced and confident Head Mechanic to lead their workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to step into a senior role at a friendly, close-knit business that works on all makes and models.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work, while also overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop. This includes delegating tasks, ensuring high standards of workmanship, and helping to mentor junior technicians where required.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of vehicle makes and models
Lead and support a small team of technicians in a hands-on capacity
Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard
Communicate with service staff and customers regarding vehicle issues and repair updates
Help maintain a clean, organised, and well-functioning workshop
Requirements:
Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or technician
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Good communication and leadership skills
MOT Tester qualification desirable but not essential
Full UK driving licence
What's On Offer:
Salary up to 40,000, depending on experience and qualifications
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm - no weekend work
