Job Title: Principal EIA Planner

Location: Striling

Are you an experienced EIA professional with a strong understanding of Scottish planning policy? Do you want to be part of a forward-thinking, purpose-driven team making a real impact in the journey to Net Zero?

We're working with a market leader in the Utilities and Infrastructure sector-specialists in delivering land, planning, environmental and geospatial solutions that unlock critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

As part of their continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Planner to join their collaborative Environmental and Planning team. You'll play a key role in shaping the environmental and planning strategy for major projects in Scotland, working alongside clients, stakeholders, and in-house technical teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and coordinate EIA and planning activity on a diverse portfolio of projects, from feasibility to submission of Environmental Outcomes Reports (EORs).
  • Manage and mentor a small team of planners and consultants, driving high standards and supporting their professional growth.
  • Build strong relationships with client teams, planning officers, and key project stakeholders across Scotland.
  • Provide strategic advice aligned with Scottish policy, legislation, and upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and collaborating with colleagues to cross-sell services.

What we're looking for:

  • A degree in planning, environmental science or a related field.
  • Chartered status with IEMA and/or RTPI.
  • Strong experience delivering EIA and planning services in Scotland, with excellent knowledge of Scottish environmental and planning policy.
  • A collaborative leader who can motivate others while maintaining strong technical oversight.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to write proposals, present to clients, and advise on complex planning issues.
  • Proficient in GIS systems and familiar with a broad range of environmental disciplines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
