As a Senior Project Engineer, you will oversee and manage complex engineering projects from concept through certification and delivery, ensuring safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Help our client lead the future of commercial aircraft modification within an EASA Modifications Integrated Project Team. They are looking for a Project Engineer to lead modification programs, driving safety, quality, and technical excellence through innovation and best practices to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the teams that develop, certify, and integrate commercial aircraft modification solutions such as cabin interior changes, IFE upgrades, and other enhancements. The candidate will work directly with customers while collaborating with global engineering and Programme Management teams across multiple time zones.
Role and responsibilities
Project & Technical
*Be part of the multidisciplinary engineering team in the design, development, and certification of aircraft modification projects, acting as the technical focal point throughout the project lifecycle.
*Provide direct technical engineering judgement to ensure safe, compliant, and practical design solutions in accordance with industry best practices.
*Support technical review meetings, including ITCM, PDR, and CDR, ensuring technical readiness and stakeholder alignment.
Project Planning & Execution
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and programme managers to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
*Support Project Managers by providing detailed technical input, risk assessments, and progress updates to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
*Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting efficiently to varying levels of technical and regulatory requirements.
Design, Engineering & Certification
*Work closely with design teams to develop engineering solutions, drawings, and technical specifications for aircraft modifications, including cabin interiors and system upgrades.
*Apply strong working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements, including CS-25, Part 21J, (E)TSO, and CFR Part 25, to support certification activities.
*Interface with regulatory authorities, MROs, suppliers, and outside vendors to ensure compliance and seamless integration of modification solutions.
Risk, Quality & Compliance Management
*Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, issues, and opportunities, developing effective mitigation strategies to protect project objectives.
*Implement quality assurance and control measures, conducting inspections, reviews, and audits to verify compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
*Ensure all deliverables meet Boeing-level expectations for safety, quality, and technical excellence.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
*Identify required materials, equipment, and services, supporting procurement activities to ensure timely delivery and technical conformity.
*Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to resolve technical issues and maintain schedule integrity.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation Control
*Track project milestones and technical health, providing clear and accurate status reporting to management, customers, and global engineering teams across multiple time zones.
*Maintain robust project documentation and configuration control, including drawings, specifications, change requests, and correspondence.
*Support functional engineering managers in resource planning and workload allocation.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
*Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and ensuring their requirements are fully understood and met.
*Provide regular project updates, manage technical change requests, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
