NXTGEN are delighted to be supporting a global tech provider in Cambridge in their search for a new Accountant. This impressive business already operates across the US, Europe and Asia, providing a range of software and systems that enable it's end client to automate processes and increase productivity. Operating in a fast paced and highly competitive sector, the successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, with a particular focus on building lasting relationships with colleagues across European entities to deliver month end financial reports and insights.

This Accountant role could be suited to a part or full qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with prior experience of financial statements. You will need to be able operate in a fast-paced environment, taking on responsibility and accountability of the financial month end close, ensuring all stakeholders and local finance teams have access to timely financial information. You'll also lead on transactional accounting, maintaining the integrity of the ledgers whilst also ensuring that supplier payments and reconciliation's are completed on time. Given the exposure gained within this role, the candidate needs to have strong communication skills and will be confident working with colleagues across the globe. Ideally, you will have had some form of international experience, will be a confident user of Excel and will be passionate about process improvement. It would also be beneficial if the candidate has an understanding of IFRS, specifically revenue recognition under IFRS 15. The ability to speak any European languages would also be significantly advantageous.

What are we looking for?

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or finalist with 2+ years' experience
  • Confident working across international finance operations
  • A team player who enjoys collaboration but can also work independently
  • Strong Excel skills and exposure to accounting systems
  • Experience in the software/tech sector or IFRS 15 a bonus
  • European language skills highly desirable
