Location: Cambridge
Working Hours: 40 per week (Start Time 7am) Mon - Fri
Pay Rate: £41 ph
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager – Mechanical to lead and oversee the design and development of mechanical systems for [building/infrastructure/products/projects – specify as needed]. This role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design strategy across multiple high-value projects.

Oversee and review design deliverables for quality, compliance, and innovation.

Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems.

Manage and mentor design teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and sustainability goals.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the design and construction process.
Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

10+ years of relevant experience, including team leadership.

Proven expertise in mechanical design for [buildings/industrial/MEP/etc.].

Strong understanding of codes, sustainability practices, and BIM tools.

Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
