Position: Construction Manager - Water

Rate Guide: Negotiable (Plus Car/Allowance and Excellent Package)
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are recruiting for a Construction Manager to help deliver the flagship Cambridge Relocation Project for Anglian Water.
The Project:
The Cambridge relocation project is the design & build of a modern, low carbon waste water treatment plant to provide vital services for the community and environment which will recycle water and nutrients, produce green energy and help Greater Cambridge to grow sustainably.
Known as the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Relocation Project, Anglian Water will work with their partners to help deliver this fantastic opportunity for the Greater Cambridgeshire area. The relocation would make the site of the existing WWTP available to form part of the development of a new low-carbon city district, known as North East Cambridge. The site at Cowley Road, is Cambridge's last major brownfield site, and the wider North East Cambridge district proposals envisage creating around 8,350 homes and 15,000 jobs over the next 20 years.
Key responsibilities in the role will include:
- Early involvement in the design phase and providing feedback on construction techniques and buildability to ensure we achieve a "right first time" outcome
- Planning, coordinating, and executing site works safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, in line with project plans, design drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Site inspections, reviewing method statements and risk assessments and other safe systems of work
- Delivering collaboration and coordination sessions with self-delivery and supply chain teams.
- Coordination and collaboration with supply chain to ensure their works are executed safely and efficiently
- Ensuring plant equipment/ machinery are in good working order with in-date certificates
- Coordination of ordering and managing hired internal and external equipment daily to optimise performance and reduce costs
- Embedding and promoting a safer everyday culture on site with the implementation of safety, health and well-being initiatives
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 4 or above
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
- Understanding of engineering principles.
- Competence with digital tools.
- Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS minimum)
- Relevant CSCS Card
- SMSTS Site Manager Safety Training
