Based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, this organisation offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where you will have the opportunity to work with leading experts and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in antibody discovery.Your New RoleAs a Senior Scientist in the Alliances team, you will play a crucial role in delivering VHH discovery projects for our partners. You will mine libraries to discover optimal lead panels, interpret client goals, and guide research accordingly. Your primary focus will be on experimental design, execution, and interpretation of results to deliver high-quality data and antibodies. You will communicate directly with partners, present your work, and develop storytelling capabilities to turn data into case studies. Additionally, you will share your expertise with junior staff, contribute to SOPs, risk assessments, and project management tools, and model appropriate H&S compliance.Main Responsibilities
- Discovery Projects: Deliver VHH discovery projects for diverse applications, including medicines and diagnostics tools.
- Experimental Design: Design, execute, and interpret wet-lab experiments in protein-protein interaction.
- Communication: Communicate directly with partners, present work, and develop case studies.
- Collaboration: Share expertise with junior staff, contribute to lab meetings, and identify pragmatic solutions.
- Compliance: Model H&S compliance, contribute to SOPs, risk assessments, and project management tools.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Education: PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent experience, ideally in antibody discovery or CRO environment.
- Experience: Wet-lab experimental design and execution in protein-protein interaction.
- Skills: Outcomes-focused, good organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Desirable: Experience with phage display or CIS Displayâ„¢, antibody binding/function assays, DNA/amino acid sequence analysis, molecular biology work, protein expression and analysis, and data analysis using computational tools.
