We are currently recruiting for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join a highly skilled kitchen team at a well-established four-star hotel in the heart of Cambridge. As Sous Chef, youll support the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure that high-quality dishes are consistently prepared and presented. You will play a key role in mentoring the kitchen team, maintaining food hygiene standards, and helping to shape creative seasonal menus.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for food innovation.
Key Responsibilities:Support the Head Chef with the development of new dishes and seasonal menus
Manage food purchases and control costs effectively
Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard
Train, mentor, and support junior members of the kitchen team
Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety
Work closely with the wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
A strong passion for hospitality and food
Proven experience in quality-driven kitchens or venues
Good business awareness, including stock control and cost management
Strong leadership and communication skills
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
A flexible, enthusiastic team player with a hands-on approach
Previous hotel experience is desirable
Must have the right to work in the UK (evidence required)
