Senior Architectural Technician

A well-respected, long-established architectural practice recognised for its thoughtful and sustainable approach is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join its friendly, collaborative Cambridge studio. With a portfolio spanning education, healthcare, cultural, and residential projects, the team is committed to delivering high-quality work grounded in design integrity and technical excellence. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the technical delivery of a diverse range of projects, working closely with architects, consultants, and external teams to ensure seamless progression from early design stages through to construction.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality technical drawings and detailed construction packages
  • Coordinate design information with consultants, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Support project delivery across RIBA Stages 3-6
  • Ensure compliance with current UK building regulations and relevant technical standards
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary design environment
  • Assist with the technical delivery of projects during on-site stages

Skills & experience

  • Degree or HND in Architectural Technology
  • Experience working within a UK architectural practice
  • Strong technical detailing skills with robust construction knowledge
  • Solid understanding of UK building regulations and construction methods
  • Proficiency in Revit, with an awareness of BIM protocols and processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused mindset
