Trainee Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Cambridge-based with travel to construction sites

Fairmead is recruiting a Trainee Health & Safety Advisor to support a well-established main contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality construction projects across the UK.

This opportunity is ideal for someone in the early stages of their health and safety career who’s eager to develop within a dynamic and supportive construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Site and Health & Safety Managers with health and safety compliance across construction sites
     

  • Contribute to the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
     

  • Support the coordination and tracking of RFIs (Requests for Information) related to health and safety
     

  • Assist with the collation of information for Health & Safety Files and project documentation
     

  • Help identify and assess on-site risks, contributing to proactive safety planning
     

  • Maintain accurate health and safety records in line with regulatory and internal requirements
     

  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure best practice is followed
     

  • Support the management of third-party safety consultants and service providers
     

  • Promote a positive safety culture across all sites
     

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong communication skills with a proactive, collaborative approach
     

  • Comfortable using digital systems and software for data entry, reporting, and document management
     

  • Either working towards or already holding a Health & Safety or Construction Safety qualification (must be included in your application)
